ELG’s Sustainability Report 2021

As recycling company, we are sustainable both in what we do and how we do it. Like every year, we condensed the information on results and insights concerning our corporate sustainability in our bi-annual full Sustainability Report for the year of 2021.

During 2021, we took several steps to improve our sustainability and implemented various lighthouse initiatives to improve our environmental impact. For the first time in our ELG company history, we also accounted for our emissions and reported our Company Carbon Footprint, providing an assessment of our climate impact. For instance, we found that, in total, ELG contributed to over 140K t CO2e throughout all 1-3 Scopes over the course of the reported year, which is equivalent to 123 tonnes CO2e emitted per employee or the amount that 360.000 trees could capture.

We also summarised our approach for more sustainability, e.g., in HSE and Compliance, and provided an overview of what different ELG locations worldwide are doing in terms of increasing their sustainability efforts and lowering the carbon footprint.
