30.07.2026

Frankfort, NY - July 30th - Aperam Recycling today proudly announces its next major leap forward: the establishment of a trailblazing Titanium Solids Center of Excellence in Frankfort, New York. The new center will be part of ELG Utica Alloys, which is currently adopting the Aperam Recycling brand ahead of its formal renaming to Aperam Recycling Advanced Metals in the second half of 2026.

This innovative hub for high-performance metals is being engineered to power the rapidly expanding recycling streams within the aerospace and defense industry.

Strategically positioned in Frankfort, New York, Aperam Recycling’s Center of Excellence is ideally located to supply critical materials to both domestic U.S. customers and vital overseas markets. By capitalizing on its close proximity to our existing Herkimer facility, the new center unlocks powerful regional synergies through optimized material flows, shared expertise, and enhanced operational flexibility.

Significant investments in proprietary automation solutions, and productivity-focused infrastructure will streamline logistics for faster turnaround times while ensuring the superior quality demanded by high-performance industries.

Jan Hofmann, Chief Executive Officer Aperam Recycling, commented:
“This investment reflects our strong commitment to the titanium solids business and further strengthens Aperam Recycling Advanced Metals’ position as a trusted partner to the aerospace industry. As aerospace demand is expected to grow over the coming decade, we see increasing opportunities for recycled titanium to support more resilient and sustainable supply chains through high-quality material solutions with lower processing intensity and reduced associated CO₂ emissions.”

Nick Corby, Chief Commercial Officer Aperam Recycling Advanced Metals, added:
"This Center of Excellence is a powerful investment in our future that directly supports our ambition to deliver best-in-class products and services while positioning for growth. It is important to note that we are not just replacing our existing capabilities, but rather significantly expanding them to elevate our partnership with the industry. Combining advanced automated processing and specialized logistics under one roof will allow us to deliver premium recycled titanium tailored to our customers' specifications. This will enhance their supply chain security and help them drive efficient, sustainable growth.”

The new Titanium Solids Center of Excellence in Frankfort is scheduled to become operational by January 1, 2027. Aperam Recycling is proud to also strengthen the local economy by creating up to 50 new jobs and advancing our commitment to a sustainable industrial future.
