ELG Metals UK Ltd is one of the leading companies in the United Kingdom for the recycling of Stainless Steel and Alloy materials.

Established in 1981, our UK Head Office is located in Sheffield, the home of Stainless Steel. We have a network of 5 strategically located operations throughout the country, focusing on supplier and customer centricity. These operate with the latest equipment available to our sector.

When it comes to logistics, we operate a modern fleet of own liveried vehicles serving both UK suppliers and customers alike. We have strategic long term partnerships to facilitate sea container logistics and operate our own wharf for bulk vessels. Our international Commercial and Logistics Teams are based in Sheffield where we are successfully accredited to the trio of ISO standards for our QHSE Management Systems: ISO 9001:2015 - Quality Management System, ISO 45001:2018 - Health & Safety Management System & ISO 14001:2015 - Environmental Management System.

Equipment

Equipped with WiFi enabled tablets, our Metal Recycling Operatives throughout all locations use the internally developed digital operations software. ‘dOps’ is a real time multi-user paperless goods receipt system which enables a reduction in reporting lead times, providing a full audit trail and optimal data retrieval.

These highly trained and experienced teams of Metal Recycling Operatives carry the skills required to offer prompt and accurate reports on a variety of Stainless Steels, Ni Cr, Ni Cr Mo, Ni Cu, Cobalt, Tool Steels, Tungsten, Titanium and Aerospace alloys.

Materials are initially assessed with handheld and bench scope analytical equipment. Our industry leading laboratory uses wet chemistry and fixed equipment with Optical Emission Spectroscopy, X-ray, Atomic Absorption and Combustion Analysis technologies, measuring down to 1 part per million, operated by our multi-skilled technicians.

All operations are equipped with modern radiation detection equipment to ensure the highest level of quality and safety standards.
