Head of Business Applications (m/w/d)

ELG GmbH, the holding company headquartered in Duisburg, Germany, manages domestic and foreign subsidiaries in 20 countries and is looking for a Head of Business Applications (m/w/d) to start on the earliest possible date. 

Your main responsibilities: 

•    Responsibility for the operation and further development of the Business Applications portfolio 
•    Development of a strategic plan to address application needs across the organization with harmonized application services
•    Publish appropriate strategies, procedures, and standards which promote cost effective solutions
•    Manages all budgetary and personnel functions for the business applications team
•    Provides leadership for ongoing communications and training for business applications
•    Responsible to develop rollout/release plans for both new applications and upgrades to existing applications
•    Ensures that business applications comply with company security policies
•    Develops criteria to evaluate 3rd party vendors and applications
•    Manages all aspects of implementation planning & coordination
•    Adheres to agreed service levels (i.e., project schedules, system availability, etc.)
•    Identifies emerging trends/best practices and ensures proposed solutions meet company goals
•    Sets technical direction for business applications and maintenance initiatives
•    Develops detailed plans and accurate estimates for the design, build, and implementation of projects
•    Manage all personnel aspects of the Business Applications team (hiring, performance reviews, etc.)

Your profile:

•    Bachelor or master degree in computer science or business informatics or equivalent working experience
•    Seven plus years’ managing enterprise-class business applications
•    Three plus years’ management experience, supervising people and processes
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
•    Familiarity managing enterprise-class business applications such as: 
•    Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
•    Customer relationship management (CRM) systems
•    Content management systems (CMS)
•    Enterprise document management (EDM) systems or Enterprise content management (ECM) systems
•    Experience in leading complex projects with an application focus
•    Excellent leadership skills
•    Excellent communication and collaboration skills
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
•    Knowhow in project and program management
•    Experience in managing cross-divisional and international projects
